The Sand County
Almanac by Aldo Leopold Aldo Leopold was a renowned author and conservationist who was one of the founders of the Conservation Movement. His "Land Ethic" points out that man and the land are interwoven as a community, that the land is a thing of beauty to be loved and preserved in its natural form, not destroyed by practical and economic expediencies. His book does not say the land is beautiful: it shows the beauty in all its forms. And its message may be even more relevant today than it was when it was first published.
