*Special Teacher Workshop Asbury Woods will host a workshop
just for teachers based on the Leopold Education Project. The
Leopold Education Project (LEP) is an innovative,
interdisciplinary, critical thinking, conservation and
environmental education curriculum based on the classic writings
of the renowned conservationist, Aldo Leopold. The Leopold
Education Project teaches about humanity's ties to the natural
environment in the effort to conserve and protect the earth.
Staff from DCNR, Lake Erie-Allegheny Earth Force and Asbury
Woods will facilitate the workshop. Participating teachers would
earn six Act 48 credits for the day, which will also include a
drawing lesson on seeds, plants and objects with Lee Steadman.
The teachers workshop is from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, a
pre-registration fee is required to participate; contact the
Arts Council of Erie, 814-452-3427, to register.

Blasco Memorial Library hosts “Smokey Gold”, a Drawing Workshop
with Artist Lee Steadman, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the
Children's programming room. A $5 pre-registration fee is
required; contact the Arts Council of Erie, 814-452-3427, to
register. Lee will conduct art lesson on creating a resist
painting that is based on the colors of the October woods. Slow
down your day to enjoy the color, shapes and smells of the local
forests.

Blasco Memorial Library hosts “November Wind”, a Drawing
Workshop with Artist Lee Steadman, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in
the Admiral Room. A $5 pre-registration fee is required; contact
the Arts Council of Erie, 814-452-3427, to register. Lee will
conduct art lesson on the November sky. Moody watercolor skies
will be explored and painted. Come celebrate with paint the
switch of fall to winter.

10th
Blasco Memorial Library hosts “An Erie County Almanac”. Join us
for the culminating event of the yearlong project in which we
showcase readings from A Sand County Almanac, view art work from
workshop participants, watch a slide show from the year’s events
and celebrate the accomplishments of Erie County! The event will
be held on the 2nd floor of the Main Library, from 1:00 pm to
4:00 pm. Free to the public.
